Classroom Management in First Grade

After implementing too many strategies and have had both success and failure with them, I have decided to create my own (which is not new among teachers). Every day, my students come to me with all kinds of toys that they dearly love. Of all, their favourite was collecting cards that had their favourite characters. Then, I thought, why not create cards and give to them as rewards? Although a bit of labour is needed(yes, you need to print, and laminate the cards), it's cheap, and most of all, kids love them! 

Instructions

It's very simple. In this packet, you will find various card designs. Select one, and just add any kind of caption to the card in the space provided. That's it! Once you are done, you can print them. It's best if you select 9 cards and then print so that the final product can fit into a card page protector. There are two types of cards: one with a crown at the top right corner and one without it. I occasionally give the crown cards and students can get special rewards. I use intrinsic rewards such as Teacher's Assistant: Be the helper for the day, Line Leader: Leads the classroom line for the day, Show and Tell: Bring an item to show off, Book Picker: Pick the CD book or read aloud for the day, Computer Dibs: Be the first one on the computer (for AR test). I use these to organize my cards. If kids wish to use them, they can earn these sheets. Some kids want to carry them every day and I let them do that as well. I bought my sheets from here: click on the picture or the title to go the site.
